Team Application
For schools or groups of students who already have a debate team.
Teams may register up to 5 students under a single team application. However, under the World Schools Debating Championship (WSDC) format, only 3 students will debate in each round. The remaining team members may serve as substitutes and can rotate into the debating lineup throughout the tournament. This structure allows teams greater flexibility, ensures participants can share debating opportunities, and helps schools manage scheduling, travel, and participant availability. It also enables teams to strategically rotate speakers based on preparation, strengths, and experience. Team requirements
3-5 student participants per team
Only 3 students debate in each round
Substitutions between rounds are permitted
Optional accompanying teacher or coach
All team members must meet eligibility requirements

Why allow up to 5 team members?
Allows more students to participate.
Allows rotation between rounds to maximize learning and engagement.
